This was my second year in a row visiting Vienna for the Forward Festival, but the first time taking my camera with me. Between the lectures, my colleagues and I spent as much time as we could exploring Vienna. I limited myself mostly to the 35mm focal length, only switching to 50mm while visiting Belvedere Palace. This is just a small selection of the images I took during those two days. Vienna is one of those places you could spend a week or two exploring, so hopefully this wasn’t my last time photographing this amazing city.

These historic buildings reflect the rich architectural heritage of Osijek, with elaborate façades, decorative details and distinctive rooflines. Surrounded by tree lined streets, they illustrate the elegant urban character that defines many parts of the city.

A performance by KUD Valentinovo Dubrava becomes a study in red and white, from the traditional costumes to the spectators capturing the moment. The repeating colours connect performers and audience in a simple visual coincidence.

Today, the media has been flooded with images of the new Maksimir Stadium following the announcement of the winning architectural design, which has already drawn considerable criticism, even hate. On a more personal and a bit selfish note, it reminded me once again that my panoramic photos of the Maksimir Stadium, taken in 2021, were featured in the competition Programme for the Maksimir Stadium and Svetice Sports and Recreation Centre in Zagreb.

The Art Pavilion stands as one of Zagreb’s most recognizable historic landmarks, framed by the landscaped gardens of King Tomislav Square. Its distinctive yellow façade and monumental glass dome form an elegant architectural centerpiece within the city’s historic Green Horseshoe.
