Prvi Snijeg Light Installation in Oktogon Passage, Zagreb – Having fun with the X-Pro1

As part of my walk through Advent locations in Zagreb, I visited the Prvi Snijeg light and sound installation set inside the Oktogon Passage, located in the historic Oktogon of the First Croatian Savings Bank Palace (cro. Palača Prve hrvatske štedionice). The installation, created by Saša Šekoranja, is composed of illuminated words from the song Prvi Snijeg, forming the shape of a Christmas tree nearly ten meters tall.

The space is accompanied by an audio backdrop of the song performed by Gabi Novak, with lyrics by Ivica Krajač and music by Nikica Kalogjera, while surrounding sketches of a winter city add a subtle festive context. The installation is a gift to the city and a tribute to Gabi Novak, created as part of Advent Zagreb 2025. According to Šekoranja, the work symbolizes togetherness and highlights beauty as a driving force, not only during the holiday season but throughout the year.

All photos were taken with the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and the Fujifilm 23mm (35mm on full frame) prime lens, edited with the FUTC Neutral (Fujifilm) Lightroom preset with a small personal tweak.
