Advent Run Zagreb 2025: Thousands of Runners Fill the City Streets During the Festive Race

I was in the center of Zagreb visting a couple of events, and just before heading out for a lunch break, I unexpectedly ran into Advent Run Zagreb 2025. So, of course, I had to capture a couple of photos.

This year’s edition gathered thousands of participants, with the maximum announced number reached — a total of 5,000 registered runners. The race started in front of Hotel Zonar, where participants could choose between a 5-kilometer and a 10-kilometer route through different parts of Zagreb.

The 5 km race led runners from Metalčeva Street toward the city center, with Gajeva Street marking the eastern boundary, before returning to the finish line near Hotel Zonar. Meanwhile, the 10 km route followed the same starting point but extended further toward Medveščak, finishing in Andrije Žaje Street. As in previous years, both races were divided into three zones: the red zone for the fastest runners, the blue zone for recreational runners, and the green zone reserved for families with children and dogs, making the event accessible to a wide range of participants.

These photos were taken at the Ban Josip Jelačić Square, Jurišićeva and Palmotićeva Street.

All photos were taken with the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and the Fujifilm 35mm (50mm on full frame) prime lens, edited with the FUTC Neutral (Fujifilm) Lightroom preset with a small personal tweak.
